What are acceptable forms of identification and proof of residency?

Learn about the acceptable forms of identification and proof of residency you can provide when opening an account at Floridacentral.

When opening an account at Floridacentral, you will be required to provide valid identification and proof of residency. A valid Florida Driver's License or State Identification Card with your current Florida physical address will meet this requirement.

However, if do not have a valid Florida Driver's License or Identification Card with your current Florida physical address, you must provide one of the following when opening your account at Floridacentral:

  • A valid Florida Driver's License or State Identification Card (showing your old address) with proof of your current physical Florida address.
  • A valid out-of-state Driver's License or State Identification Card with proof of your current physical Florida address.
  • Two of the following alternate forms of identification with proof of your current physical Florida address. NOTE: Alternate forms of identification must be valid/unexpired and at least one of the two must be a picture ID. 
    • Passport

    • Social Security Card

    • Paystub, if it shows the last 4 digits of Social Security Number

    • Health card, if it shows the last 4 digits of Social Security Number

    • W-2 or the first page of tax return

    • Military I.D.

    • Motor Vehicle Registration (NOTE: If the address is not current, proof of residency will be required.)

    • Voter Registration Card (NOTE: If the address is not current, proof of residency will be required.)

    • Global Entry (a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) program that allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers upon arrival in the United States)

    • A state-issued license, such as a gun permit or a pilots' license (NOTE: Hunting and fishing license are not included as an acceptable form of alternate identification.)

    • Birth Certificate

    • Student ID – School-issued, hard plastic or laminated with photo

Minor and SSI Accounts Without Picture ID

If you are opening an account for a minor who does not have a picture ID, or for the beneficiary of Supplemental Security Income who does not have a picture ID, you will need their Social Security Card and Birth Certificate. These are the only acceptable forms of identification in this instance.

Acceptable Proof of Residency:

  • Current lease or mortgage agreement
  • Current utility bill (power, water, or phone)
  • Current Tax Bill showing your name and address of residence
  • Current paystub or employment verification with residence address
