When will I receive my vehicle title when I pay off my auto loan at Floridacentral?

Learn about our vehicle lien release and title process

Lien Release Processing Times

When an auto loan is paid off, we will release the lien after 10 business days. If you need the title immediately, there are three steps you should take to help expedite the lien release process.

  1. Contact the branch location where you wish to make the final payment ahead of time.
  2. Pay off the loan with guaranteed funds, such as a cashier's check, cash, or proceeds from a new Floridacentral loan. (NOTE: If your loan is paid off with a personal check or a check from a car dealership, expedited release processing will not be available, and the lien will be released after 10 business days.)
  3. Remind the Floridacentral representative at the time you make the final payment that you would like expedited release processing.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It can take the DMV an additional 72 hours after Floridacentral has submitted a lien release to finish processing the request.

Vehicle Titles

Florida Titles

Most vehicle titles in the state of Florida are electronic. If your vehicle has an electronic title, you will not receive a paper title from Floridacentral. When your loan has been paid in full, we will release our lien after the processing time detailed above and send you an email confirmation. If we do not have an email address on file for your account, we will send this confirmation by mail. After you have received this confirmation, you may request a paper title at the DMV if you wish to do so.

If your vehicle has a paper title, Floridacentral will mail the title to the appropriate party after the processing times detailed above.

Out-of-State Titles

NOTE: Titles that are held in a state other than Florida can take longer to process.

If the out-of-state title is electronic, Floridacentral will begin the lien release process after the processing times detailed above. We will send you a notification of the lien release via email if we have a valid email address on file.

If your vehicle has an out-of-state paper title, Floridacentral will mail the title to the appropriate party after the processing times detailed above.
